experiencesDefinition from Wiktionary, the free dictionary Jump to: navigation, search See also expériencesFrom Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Experience as a general concept comprises knowledge of or skill in or observation of some thing or some event gained through involvement in or exposure to that thing or event. The history of the word experience aligns it closely with the concept of experiment. The concept of experience generally refers to know-how or procedural knowledge, rather than propositional knowledge: on-the-job training rather than book-learning. Philosophers dub knowledge based on experience "empirical knowledge" or "a posteriori knowledge". The interrogation of experience has a long tradition in continental philosophy. Experience plays an important role in the philosophy of Søren Kierkegaard. The German term Erfahrung, often translated into English as "experience", has a slightly different implication, connoting the coherency of life's experiences. A person with considerable experience in a certain field can gain a reputation as an expert. Certain religious traditions (such as types of Buddhism, Surat Shabd Yoga, mysticism and Pentecostalism) and educational paradigms with, for example, the conditioning of military recruit-training (also known as "boot camps"), stress the experiential nature of human epistemology. This stands in contrast to alternatives: traditions of dogma, logic or reasoning. Participants in activities such as tourism, extreme sports and recreational drug-use also tend to stress the importance of experience. From Wikipedia under the

If you are the parent of a young person who has learning difficulties, what experiences have you had in trying to get them into work or day/residential college? Is there anything that can make this experience better? Asked by Gladys - Tue Feb 19 12:26:42 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. First, make sure that the child's IEP is up to date and appropriate prior to leaving high school. Since this is no longer an exit requirement per the IDEA (the law for IEPs), it's important that you ask for this. Second, your child's IEP plan should include a transition plan from age 16 on. That transition plan is whether they are going to college or going into the work force or whatever. This transition plan should include having the appropriate people from the college represented at the IEP meeting OR having someone from the high school obtain a good working knowledge of the information that is needed. THIS is the most important part as this is what will provide a smooth transition as far as the student having a working relationship… [cont.] Answered by starrrrgazer - Tue Feb 19 17:30:20 2008 How do our experiences shape who we are?
Q. In English class we have to write an essay. "How do our experiences shape who we are?" is the question and we have no other information. If you could help me with some ideas for what to write, stories about experiences you've had or just how to start i would greatly appreciate it. Asked by Big.Dreamer - Tue Mar 2 18:49:35 2010 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Our experiences shape who we are in several ways. First all experiences, good or bad, can increase our knowledge and help us build understanding in life. Things happen all the time, do we learn from them? Most of the time..Yes. Experiences teach us what we should or shouldn't do, or help us decide how we can improve our decision and act on it correctly next time. Second, experiences can shape your emotional side. If something tough happens, ex. death, loss of a friend, rejection...it can leave you feeling sad and depressed, but from that experience and how you pushed through it, can make you stronger, and help you to carry on. Experiences can help you handle situations that you may face in the future that may be alot like one you had… [cont.] Answered by BabehGirl - Tue Mar 2 19:00:38 2010 From Yahoo Answer Search: "experiences" Delhi experiences wettest August in 15 yrs - Times of India
